Prepare for a domain transfer

1. 1Unlock the domain at your current registrar (transfer lock off).
2. 2Request the authorization code (sometimes called EPP or auth code).
3. 3Make sure the registrant email is one you can read; you'll receive an approval email.
4. 4Use the receiving registrar's supported transfer process. Astra's transfer controls should not be treated as a generally available paid transfer service. Never paste the authorization code into a support ticket.

Transfer eligibility, timing and any added registration period depend on the registry and registrar. Confirm the lock status, expiry date and receiving registrar's terms before starting.
